Hi! My name is Rayssa, and I’m the Brazilian heart behind Sensory Brazil.
I was born and raised in Brazil, surrounded by its colors, its rhythms, its forests, and the magic that exists here. For many years, I took all of this for granted—until life led me far away from home.
I spent several years living abroad and traveling through more than 20 countries. I crossed borders, learned from new cultures, walked through different landscapes, and lived long enough outside my country to finally see it with fresh eyes. And when I eventually returned home, something inside me shifted.
I could finally feel what people always said about Brazil—
but I had never been able to fully understand.
There is something different here.
Something subtle, alive, and impossible to ignore once you learn how to sense it.
It’s in the way the wind moves across the mountains, in the sound of birds at dawn, in the raw force of waterfalls, in the warmth of people, in the natural energy that flows through this land.
Living abroad allowed me to return with a kind of wanderlust vision—
seeing Brazil not just as my home, but as one of the most extraordinary places on Earth.
A life rooted in nature
Today, I live inside a huge environmental reserve near Rio de Janeiro, far from the noise of the big city. I traded convenience of living in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, for quiet mornings, waterfall baths, star‑filled nights, and a lifestyle shaped by nature itself.
This space is not about luxury or escapism—it’s about presence.
About listening.
About learning again how it feels to be part of the natural world.
This lifestyle influences everything I write here:
the slowness, the grounding, the sensory awareness, the simplicity, the beauty.
That is why I decided to create a blog and not a social media profile. To get away from all the noise and connect with people that want real, deep content about this country I love so much.
My background
I am a Naturopathic Therapist—a path that deepened my relationship with natural living, observation, and holistic well‑being. But this blog is not about naturopathy, and I do not offer therapy, guidance, or treatment of any kind.
What I share here is something different:
the beauty of living close to nature, the sensory experiences it creates, and the authentic places in Brazil where this connection becomes almost unavoidable.
Why I created Sensory Brazil
I built this blog for one reason:
To show Brazil the way a local sees it—
but also the way a traveler feels it.
After years abroad, I came back with a mixture of nostalgia, curiosity, and awe. I realized that Brazil is full of places that are deeply spiritual, beautifully wild, sensorially rich, and often unknown even to Brazilians themselves.
Here, I share:
- authentic experiences
- sensory journeys
- meaningful landscapes
- retreats and nature‑based escapes
- places untouched by mass tourism
- reflections born from real life inside a protected natural area
This is not a blog about tourist clichés or “top 10 attractions.”
It’s a space for those who want to feel Brazil, not just visit it.
For those who crave silence, nature, inner stillness, and genuine connection.
My mission with this blog
To be a bridge between:
- Brazil’s hidden natural beauty
- and the people who want to explore it consciously
To share the Brazil I rediscovered after living abroad.
The Brazil that breathes.
The Brazil that heals through simplicity.
The Brazil that awakens your senses.
If you’re looking for a more meaningful way to travel, experience, and reconnect with the natural world, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Sensory Brazil.
Welcome to the Brazil I love—with the eyes of a local, and the wonder of a traveler.
